He got his start serving others at just 13 years old, when people sought him out to explain things in a common-sense way they could understand. Growing up in a military family taught him that if you see something that needs to be done, you do it. This early lesson shaped his entire approach to life and business. Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on his 17th birthday, graduating boot camp as a lance corporal and serving six years at sea in the Western Pacific as an aircraft maintenance data analyst. After his military service, he pursued studies in chemistry and biology while working 60-hour weeks. But life took an unexpected turn when his wife was diagnosed with cancer and later passed away. This profound loss taught him that life is short, and time must be used wisely. This lesson drives him to help others make the most of their retirement years. Jerry entered the advisory profession, where he enjoys educating people about retirement.

He has been recognized for his community service and expertise through keynote speeches at senior groups, churches, VFWs and American Legions. He educates seniors on their rights, options and special entitlements and has been featured as a speaker on topics ranging from Social Security optimization to VA benefits like Aid and Attendance.
In his free time, Jerry enjoys nature, hiking, fishing and traveling. He loves exploring the Midwest's hidden gems, including the annual bird migrations. Jerry is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoys attending CMA Fest in Nashville each June, where he connects with his Southern roots through country music at the Grand Ole Opry. He also loves sharing travel stories with his clients and helping them plan their own vacation adventures.

Growing up in Oberlin, Kansas, I embraced the values of hard work, resilience and community. Golf was my sport of choice, and I even played a year in college, with a major bucket-list goal of playing at St. Andrews in Scotland.
While earning my degree, I ascended the ranks within a national restaurant chain in Lawrence, progressing swiftly from shift supervisor to restaurant general manager, all while juggling a heavy college course load. My role managing the downtown Lawrence restaurant during my final semester at the University of Kansas involved working 50 hours a week, attending classes and enduring months without a day off, which bolstered my endurance and ignited my fervor for leadership, training and customer service.
Spanning 24 years in the restaurant business and earning the accolade of Restaurant General Manager of the Year in 2010 for the Kansas City area, the experience sharpened my commitment to world-class customer service and presented opportunities to contribute to community initiatives, such as the Melanoma Run and the Tiny Homes Project for veterans.
Transitioning from retail leadership in 2019, motivated by the desire to be present for my family, I venturously embarked on a career in insurance by March 2020. As a Medicare specialist, I assisted individuals in navigating complex health care choices for retirement.
Now, as an asset manager in the financial services realm, I employ a holistic approach to retirement planning, integrating tax strategies, Medicare and IRMAA insights, retirement income considerations, tax-free gifting and estate protection planning. My goal is for clients to savor retirement, devoid of financial worry.
Ultimately, my passion revolves around people. Educating, guiding and inspiring them to recognize the broader perspective empowers them to lead lives enriched with confidence and tranquility. Life is fleeting, and I believe everyone deserves to maximally enjoy the fruits of their labor.
